Pregnancy Yoga

The ancient practice of yoga has healing and restorative powers that reach far beyond what we tend to associate with yoga poses. During the childbearing years the practice of yoga offers many benefits to our changing body, mind and emotions. When making the momentus transition from the one being parented to the one who is parenting, yoga can help orient us in ways that will enhance our journey and ultimately lead us towards a more purposeful life.  From the moment of conception, throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond, our connections to our body mind and heart are essential. Paving our way as parent requires love and care, and practicing yoga during this transforming time, can nourish and strengthen these connections as we participate in the creation of new life.

Pregnancy Yoga:

Pregnancy Yoga helps the expecting mom develop the flexibility, concentration and strength needed during this transitional time while her body is home for two and preparing for the process of birth. Yoga postures combined with breath awareness and relaxation, aids in relieving many of the common discomforts of pregnancy, while building increased awareness, vitality and ease to the mind, body and heart.  As so much growth and change take place, being in community with other pregnant women is another benefit that sets this class apart from regular yoga classes. Connecting with each other, yourself and your baby during this special time brings benefits that will last in the years to come.
