Sara ShelleySara Shelley RYT, CHt

Since 1995, Sara has been passionately committed to improving the quality of birth, providing education and support to empower women and partners as they prepare for the birth of their child. She has been recognized for her ability to meet the unique needs of each student. Her gift is providing learning opportunities, that specifically address and potentially transform common fears and concerns often associated with the process of bringing a new life into the world.

Sara combines her therapeutic background with many years of experience as a childbirth educator, doula, prenatal yoga and meditation instructor. Her focus with each couple is to honor personal choices and to build individual strengths. Through education and practice, women are given opportunities to broaden their range of mind-body skills useful for navigating the challenges of birth. Building trust in their bodies and their own innate knowing, is an added gain. Partners as well, learn about the realities of birth, and how to handle the unexpected. In this way, they too can enter the process with greater confidence and ease in their role as an educated, loving and supportive partner.

Whether birth takes place at a birth center, hospital or at home, every couple deserves as smooth a transition as possible into parenthood. Childbirth comes with its own set of unique challenges, however the positive reward of a healthy baby in the end, is unsurpassed. There’s no question that the birth of a child is life changing, and being able to navigate these changes with greater skill, confidence and ease, and to remember ones experience’s in a positive light has the potential to be transforming for years to come.
